Seven Steps to Writing Success is a resource SCSS uses to enhance the writing of our students.
Seven Steps is developed by author Jen McVeity. She has designed the programme around the chunking concept, similar to the way we play sport. e.g. when learning to play tennis you must first learn the individual skills then practise the skills over and over until they go into muscle memory. Finally, we put the skills together in a game. Similarly, we will chunk the concepts for students rather than asking them to initially write the whole story (or play the whole tennis match).
