Structured Synthetic Phonics

In 2025 Springfield Central State School was  accredited with the Sounds-Write Silver Award as part of the Sounds-Write Schools accreditation programme. The Sounds-Write Silver Award recognises the quality phonics instruction across our school. At SCSS, we are committed to ensuring every student reads, achieves and succeeds through an approach that inspires a life-long passion for reading. We are also committed to continually improving our practice to achieve the best outcomes for all students. This recognition is a reflection of our dedication to quality curriculum delivery, and we will continue to work hard to ensure continuous improvement in phonics instruction. ​
