At Springfield Central State School, we use Program Achieve to optimise the social, emotional and academic capabilities of students from prep to year 6. Program Achieve identifies the social and emotional capabilities that all young people need to acquire in order to be successful in school, experience well-being and have positive relationships. The lessons and activities are designed to teach students a positive mindset for academic achievement and eliminate the negative mindset leading to poor social-emotional development. (Kids Matter)
Our teaching focus:
Term 1: Getting Along
Term 2: Confidence
Term 3: Organisation
Term 4: Persistence (weeks 1 – 5) and Resilience (Weeks 6 – 10)
Each of the five foundations is represented by a key and these keys can be seen in a walkway in our school. We also hear a Program Achieve reminder every week at assembly and Program Achieve key awards are presented at our annual end of year Awards Day.
