Our 2012 Student Leadership process was launched late last week.
Students in years 6 and 7 have the opportunity to self nominate for a leadership position in the 2012 SLT. Years 5 - 7 students will be able to nominate for a class representative position.
Self Nominations are due this Thursday and students will be informed on Friday if they have been shortlisted.
Once shortlisted, students are required to prepare a three minute speech that will be presented to the Year 5 - 7 student body. Class reps will present to their classmates.
Students will then go to the vote. Successful candidates will be announced at a very special Badge Ceremony planned for the 24th February. Year 5 - 7 classes along with family and friends are invited to this event which will kick off at 9:15am. We are very fortunate that our State Member Jo-Anne Miller is available and excited about presenting the 2012 Leaders with their badges.
Best wishes to all students who nominate. As I said to the students when I launched the procecss, there are approx 60 students and only 12 positions. Each of these will be highly sought after, it is important that students are not disheartened if they are unsuccessful.
Mr Gooley will lead the team in their activities and adventures this year. he is really looking forward to attending the Leadership conference and camp woth the 2012 team.
I too am really looking forward to working with The 2012 Student Leadership team. I am certain they will be an amazing group of students!
