Remembrance Day 2018

Today students and staff acknowledged Remembrance Day at a small service hosted by our student leaders. At 11am, we paused to remember, respect and reflect on the sacrifices of all armed forces personnel who have died or suffered in the line of duty. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice, effectively ending the hostilities of the First World War. Our student leaders presented the commemorative address, with the key message of peace and learning from the past. Prior to the service, students learnt about the history and significance of the red poppy. Our students and staff contributed to a collaborative art installation by writing a message of peace and remembrance on a poppy and adding it to our mural. Students displayed our Code of Courtesy by showing respect during this significant commemoration.
